Introduction: Best Places in Uruguay

Uruguay is a one-of-a-kind type country. It is a chill and layback country with great vibes all around.

People are not stressed, and you feel it around you. We spent 10 days travelling in Uruguay from North to South following the coast.

We discovered amazing place and people. And had the chance to live a real local barbecue

The barbecue is made slowly. On one side there is the fire to made ember and on the other a grill for the meat. Slowly ember is put under the fire for 2h to have a slow cooking of the meat.

Here are our 5 Best Places in Uruguay.

5 Best Places in Uruguay to Visit

Punta del Diablo

Fishermen town located north of the Country. It is one of our favourite cities in Uruguay. Amazing vibes, wild land, and really friendly people.

Cabo Polonio

Laidback town located within a national park. Cabo Polonio is a top destination for a day trip or a couple of days to relax and chill. Home to the sealions, dunes, and great vibes.

Montevideo

Capital city of Uruguay. A great spot to discover the culture and learn the history of the country.

Punta del Este

Worth for a daytrip. It is a fancy coastal city with a beautiful neighbourhood near the lighthouse. It is also home to Casa Pueblo, a must to see museum in Uruguay.

Colonia del Sacramento

Old cobble street, cosy city center, beautiful ocean and the best place to reach Buenos Aires. Colonia is a must to see while travelling in south America.

“Many little people, in little places, doing little things, can change the world.” ― Eduardo Galeano
