Introduction: Best hikes in Argentina

Argentina is one of the countries that we call a hiker’s wonderland. It has tones of great hikes all over. And on top of them, lots of them can be done in a single day. Here is a list of the hike we loved in Argentina. Of course, those are not all the hikes you can do, and we certainly did not do them all. But we are sure you will want to do them!

The Cerro Uritorco or Uritorco hill is the peak of a mountain chain called Sierras Chicas. Its summit stands at 1949m above mean sea level. The site is a private property but is open to public

Duration: 1-day

The Andes are the longest continental mountain range in the world with 7000km length, 200 to 700km width and an average height of 4000m. The park offers many treks, but a 1-day trek can be done from Mendoza to Confluencia, the base camp.

One of the nicest attractions in Bariloche is LLAO LLAO municipal park which is also a part of the circuito chico (a road going around the park and a lake)

Refugio Frey is a complete day hike from Bariloche. The nicest experience is to loop the trail by taking the cable car to Cerro Cathedral and then hike to Frey.

Laguna de Los Tres is the closest place to the wall of mount Fitz Roy, one of the most famous mounts in Argentina. While Fitz Roy mount can be seen even from El Chalten, the trek and later on the lagoon are giving different insight and gorgeous landscape all along the day.

Laguna Torre is part of Los Glaciares National Park. The lagoon is formed from glacier melted water. From there you are able to see the east face of Cerro Torre. The particularity of this lagoon is that within its water are small iceberg plus you can see the glacier itself.

The Tierra Del Fuego National Park is under the responsibility of Ushuaia. It is an ecoregion of the Patagonic forest and Altos Andes (part of the subantartic forest).

Laguna Esmeralda is one of the highlights in term of trekking near Ushuaia. It is an easy trek that can be done from downtown in a single day. The total length of the day is 9,7km (both ways) with an ascent/descent of 204m.
