Unique Stay in Bariloche
Located along the lake, Alberto converted his property and parent’s home into an amazing Airbnb guesthouse. He now offers 2 doubles rooms with shared bathroom and one double room with private bathroom in an historical 1940s chalet with shared living room and kitchen (where we stayed)
Plus, he also offers 3 studios, one next to the lake one in the middle and one attached to the house.

The guesthouse chalet – Our room
We stayed in the room upstairs with a view toward the lake. The room was very spacious with a comfortable double bed, a nice armchair, a little desk and wardrobe plus 2 chairs. The room was really bright and had enough space to do Yoga with comfort.
There was a little balcony with a view toward the lake and we really enjoyed putting the chairs out and chilling with the view while enjoying our morning coffee or evening aperitif.
There was warm blanket for the cold night and even an electric heater. We also really appreciate all the different light in the room and the power socket everywhere.
As it is in an old chalet, the stairs were a bit steep, if you have mobility issue, it might be a problem.
The kitchen
You could see that the kitchen was being used as there were everything you would need. All type of cutlery, tonnes of pans and pots, bowl and plates, glasses, cups. There was also a toaster and a blender.
Oil, salt, pepper, and other cooking basics were all presents and what other travellers had left behind could be used for free.
The kitchen was really like an old chalet, and it was cool to cook and then eat at the wooden table. It’s there that we met Edgardo another guest from Buenos Aires and also got to talk with the owner Alberto. It was a really social place and we are glad to have met with them.
Around the house
There was a supermarket, kiosk, bakery within a kilometre from the house. A bus station in front of the house so it was convenient even if located 14km from the center of Bariloche.
Also, when Alberto is going to town or somewhere else, he would offer us to take us along and drop us. For example, on our last day, he dropped us for free at the airport.
From there, it’s really easy to get to LLAO LLAO or the Circuito chico, it’s one bus away from the city center and 2 from Cerro cathedral.
A direct bus (N°20) goes there from the bus terminal.
The family
Alberto and his son Juan where super friendly. And while we planned on staying 5 nights, we extended our stay for another 4. There were always helpful and full of good advises. There really know the place.
We are really glad we stayed longer and got to talk more and become friend with Alberto that has lots of story and love to travel.
On Sunday, Alberto’s had his family and friend at home. He was the cook and made some great hummus and super yummy carrot mayonnaise. He would always ask Tina how it was and in the end share with us what he made.
