Bruges is the main city of the West Flanders Region of Belgium. It is one of the musts to visit city in Belgium. If we compare it to Brussels, we would rather go there.
The city is filled with canals, old cobble streets, stunning old medieval building. Well, it has all the charming points a traveller wants to see and expect to get in one of Europe’s most medieval town.

Getting there
The easiest way to get to Bruges is to fly to Brussels airport and then take a train to Bruges. The ride takes 1h and there are some 75 trains per day.
Moving Around
Moving around Bruges is best done walking or biking while enjoying the city. It is a small town, so you won’t need to use public transportation but If you do need, there are plenty of buses.
When to Visit
In Europe, this is pretty much always the same. Avoid July/August due to the summer holidays. Spring and Autumn are the best times to visit Brussels. But the city is open all year round. We were there in October and we still had a great time.

In Bruges, like Brussels, the must-to-try foods are:

Things to do in Bruges
Rozenhoedkaai (Quay of the Rosary)
Take a shot at the most popular spot for an amazing picture in Bruges. From there you can see why this town is a must to visit.
Belfry of Bruges
Visit the bell tower in town. Built around 1240, the building tower stands at 83m tall and is homed to 47 bells. A 350 steps staircase will bring you on top of it.
St. Salvator's Cathedral
Walk in the St. Salvator’s Cathedral. Cathedral across Europe are all beautiful. And you do not need to be a believer to enjoy the beautiful architecture they have.
Boat Tour
You can also admire the beauty of Bruges from its canal by taking on a boat tour.
Bruges City Hall
Built in the 12th century, it’s one of the most impressive building to see in town. And you can visit it.
Burg Square
Hang around the main square of Bruges. And like most square in Belgium, it is surrounded by lots of neo-classical buildings.
