Introduction
Corsica is a treasure cove of beautiful beaches, with its sandy white beaches and crystal clear waters, it can easily be compared to the Maldives and hold its own against it.
We must admit that we didn’t expect to be that amazed by Corsica’s beauty, nor did we anticipate that there would be that many beautiful beaches in Corsica.
Corsica, also known as the island of beauty, is a French island in the Mediterranean Sea, located south of mainland France. With over 1000km of coastline, it is an ideal destination for beach lovers.
What struck us the most were the stunning beaches on one side and the gorgeous mountains on the other.
In this article, we will share with you our top beaches in Corsica and give you all the information you need to easily access them, park your car, and enjoy them fully.
We have integrated over 40 beaches on our Corsica Google Map, but in this article, we will be focusing on our 12 must-see beaches in Corsica.

How to access the beaches
Corsica is an incredible island to explore, but getting around can be a little bit tricky, especially if you want to get to some of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica.
In truth, public transportation is quite limited and the best and only way we see possible to reach the best beaches in Corsica is with your own transportation system (car, van, etc…)
Renting a car is what we recommend, as the most beautiful beaches in Corsica are only accessible by road. Driving in Corsica isn’t that hard compared to other countries. Roads are globally in good condition and as they are curvy and winding, the average speed is low.
We recommend booking in advance for the best prices and services. We used it and got a brand new Audi A1 from Bastia airport.

We recommend to rent a car through Discover Cars with free cancellation. Book your rental car here.
When to Visit
Corsica is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the Mediterranean, and the best time to visit depends on whether you prefer warm waters, fewer crowds, or lively summer vibes.
- Spring (March-May): A great time for exploring the coastline, but the sea is still too cool for swimming (15–19°C / 59–66°F). The beaches are quiet, and the island is in full bloom, making it perfect for scenic coastal hikes.
- Summer (June-August): Peak beach season with hot temperatures (25–30°C / 77–86°F) and warm sea (22–27°C / 72–81°F). This is the best time for swimming, snorkeling, and island-hopping, but expect crowded beaches, higher prices, and busy roads.
- Autumn (September-October): The ideal time for a beach holiday. The sea is still warm (20–24°C / 68–75°F), the crowds are gone, and the weather remains sunny and pleasant (20–27°C / 68–81°F). September is especially perfect for enjoying Corsica’s stunning beaches without the summer rush.
- Winter (November-February): Too cold for swimming (sea temperatures drop to 13–16°C / 55–61°F), but the beaches are completely empty, making it a peaceful time for long coastal walks and photography. Some beachside restaurants and tourist services may be closed.
For the best balance of warm water, great weather, and fewer crowds, September is the perfect month to visit Corsica’s beaches. We visited at the end of September and loved it!

Beaches in Corsica
Saleccia Beach
Saleccia Beach is one of the most breathtaking and secluded beaches in Corsica and is our favorite beach in Corsica. Saleccia Beach is famous for its white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and wild, untouched beauty.
Located in the Desert des Agriates, this beach offers an unspoiled paradise. Due to its remote location, reaching Saleccia Beach requires some effort, but the reward is a pristine, postcard-perfect setting that rivals the most exotic destinations in the world.
Combined together with Lotu beach and the coastal trail connecting them, it stands as one of our favorite things to do in Corsica.

Beach Features
- Type of Beach: Fine white sand, shallow entry, clear turquoise waters, and a wild, untouched setting.
- Waves & Depth: Generally calm, with shallow waters near the shore, making it great for swimming.
Location:
- Saleccia Beach is located on the northern coast of Corsica, within the Désert des Agriates, between Saint-Florent and Ile-Rousse. It is one of the most isolated beaches on the island, far from any towns or major roads.
- Nearest town: Saint-Florent (~1 hour by 4×4 or boat)
- GPS Coordinates:7218° N, 9.2094° E
Parking & How to Access the Beach
- By Boat (Easiest & Most Scenic Option): From Saint-Florent, several companies offer boat shuttles or private boat rentals to Saleccia Beach. The ride takes around 30-45 minutes,
- By 4×4 (Adventure Route): A dirt road from Casta (on the D81 road) leads to the beach. This off-road track is rough and only accessible by 4×4 (or organized 4×4 shuttle services from Saint-Florent). The drive takes around 1 hour and drops you near the beach, but you’ll still need to walk about 10-15 minutes to reach the sand.
- By Hiking (For the Adventurous): If you’re looking for a longer hike, the full trek from Saint-Florent takes around 4-5 hours.

Facilities & Useful Information
- Facilities: Saleccia is a wild, unspoiled beach with no built infrastructure. You won’t find sunbeds, umbrellas, or shops—so bring everything you need.
- Food & Drinks: The only option nearby is “A Piniccia di Saleccia” restaurant, about 10 minutes inland from the beach, where you can grab a drink or a snack. It’s best to bring your own food and water if you plan to stay for a while as this is open only during the peak season
- Toilets & Showers: No public restrooms or showers are available.
- Shade: There is very little natural shade, so bringing an umbrella or beach tent is highly recommended.
- Rentals & Activities: No rental services for kayaks, paddleboards, or sunbeds. This is a true wilderness beach experience.

Lotu Beach (Plage du Lotu) is another stunning and secluded beach located in the Désert des Agriates, known for its soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and peaceful atmosphere.
While not as famous as its neighbor, Saleccia Beach, Lotu offers an equally breathtaking experience with easier access.

Nonza Beach
Nonza Beach (Plage de Nonza) is one of the most unique and dramatic beaches in Corsica. For us, this beach was so unreal and surprising as the beach is made of black pebbles, has a wild setting, and a breathtaking cliff on the side where Nonza village is.
Unlike the white sandy beaches of Saleccia and Lotu, Nonza offers a completely different experience, making it a unique stop among the beaches in Corsica.
If you have the time and want to make some unique memories, take time to write something on the beach using white rocks.

Beach Features
- Type of Beach: Black pebble beach, wild and untamed, with a rugged and dramatic coastline.
- Waves & Depth: Can be rough due to exposure to the open sea, making it less ideal for swimming.
Location
- Nonza Beach is located on the west coast of Cap Corse, below the village of Nonza, perched on a high cliff overlooking the beach.
- Nearest town: Nonza (~5-minute drive or 20-minute hike down from the village)

- GPS Coordinates: 42.8053° N, 9.3491° E
Parking & How to Access the Beach
- Parking: There is parking in Nonza village, where most visitors leave their cars. The best parking spot is near the Paoline Tower, which offers breathtaking views over the beach.
- Access: By Foot (From Nonza Village): To reach the beach, you must walk down a steep staircase from the village. The descent takes around 15-20 minutes, but the climb back up can be challenging. By Car (Limited Access): There is a small, unpaved road leading to the beach, but it is very rough and not recommended unless you have a 4×4.

Facilities & Useful Information

- Food & Drinks: There are restaurants and cafés in Nonza village, but none directly on the beach.
- Toilets & Showers: No public restrooms or showers available on the beach.
