Mapping the day

San Telmo

Mercado San Telmo

The main attraction of San Telmo will be the Feria (flea market) but to start the day, we opted to begin our day in the Mercado as it is the southernmost point of the feria and walk back up.

Unfortunately, most of places were closed but still it was a cool building to visit.

Feria San Telmo

Composed of more than 270 stands over 1km long. The flea market is present eery Sunday from 10am to 4pm. And is a must to visit while in Buenos Aires. Not only, lots of stall have unique and creative items to sell, it also has great vibes.

Basílica Nuestra Señora del Rosario

Also called Convento Santo Domingo, this basilic is located on the same street as the flea market. It has a gorgeous architecture and is worth spending a while along your journey in San Telmo.

Downtown

Plaza de Mayo

The end of the flea market and the beginning of downtown Buenos Aires. Its name come from the 1810 independence revolution.

Around this plaza are located the metropolitan cathedral of Buenos Aires (that can be visited free) and many other historical monuments.

Pricing and booking

Mirador Guemes Gallery

This place was closed when we were there, but we believe it worth to be on your itinerary. Located in a shopping mall/gallery, this viewpoint is supposed to offer you view over the whole city.

Florida Street

This pedestrian street is a popular shopping street where you can find lots of shops, stores, offices, and street performers.

Obelisk

On your way, you will come across the Buenos Aires Obelisk. it was erected in 1936 to commemorate the quadricentennial of the first foundation of the city.

Teatro Colón

One of the 10 best opera in the world with acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world.

You can either visit the theatre via a guided tour, you will need to check out the opening hours and prices or only admire its architecture.

It offers both English and Spanish tour, but we believe the best would be to get to see a real piece in it.

Plaza Gral. Lavalle

Located behind the Colon theatre, the Lavalle square is a beautiful place to visit, chill and admire architecture.

“Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.”
