Day 3 Bled

Third day in Bled. We wanted to do some hiking in the Triglav national park. And while we checked for that, we found out that there are quite a few of them to do. But not many are a loop or day-hikes. In the end we opted to hike to Visevnik.

And later on, we would drive toward Bohinj lake to see this other stunning lake, do some more hiking or just chill by its side.

Let’s go 😉

Day 3 of 3 days in Bled

Going to Visevnik

We started our day pretty well with breakfast and a view of Triglav. Our apartment had a direct view toward Triglav. Nothing best to start a hiking day.

We then left for the parking lot of the Visevnik hike. It was easy not to miss the parking lot. It is quite huge. We parked and paid 5€ for the whole day

Visevnik Hike

We started the hike at 9:20am, the first part was on a road until a camping area, from there we took the forest trail and then the prairie one until the end of the cable car. So far, the hike was easy.

But from there the hike really get started. And it became super steep and not that easy. In fact the distance is not that great but the elevation gain is high.

At a moment we arrived in an intersection and opted for the road to Visevnik 1h which was the shortest option.

And slowly the views become amazing as we were reaching over the forest.

We arrived at 11am at the summit, there we met a German/French couple and another Slovenian one. We talked for a bit and took some pictures before keeping on.

Return from Visevnik

Two options, using the same trail as before or looping it which is a bit wilder hiking. (But not that much). As always, we opted to loop the trail instead of going back.

To do so, we followed the trail going on the side of the next mountain and cut down the valley. It was really enjoyable and way better than just going back. It was a bit longer but globally easier. we left around 11:30am the summit and arrived at the intersection around 12:20am

We then took the same way back and made a lunch break along the way. We were back at our car at 1:11pm.

Road to Bohinj lake

From there we drove toward Bohinj lake. The road was super scenic and goes through many small villages. It took 40min.

Road to Bohinj lake

Bohinj lake

We parked in the main parking (3€ per hour) and went a bit around the lake. Put our feet inside this crazy crystal-clear water.

This lake is wilder and lots of people come here to chill. We then walked a bit and sat on a bench before going back to the car.

Return to Lake Bled

We then drove to Bled, refuel along the way, cost of fuel is almost the same as in France around 1,3€ per litter of Diesel

When we arrived in Bled, we parked near the bled villa, and rented a rowing boat (20€) for one hour (then 10€ per hour but the guy doesn’t check really). We had fun and hard time managing the boat until the island. Parking it on the peer was super hard and the wind was blowing a lot at that time!!!

We then visited the small island, another 12€ per person to visit the church and the clock tower. It is cool to do but not worth that much money We then headed back, rowed back to the car, went to the supermarket and back to our accommodation to enjoy the night.

In our complete guide of Bled, we recommend doing this on the first day if the weather allows it. This way you would have more time in Bohinj but as it was raining like hell on our 1st day there, we couldn’t do it. We fell also that not doing this wouldn’t make our stay in Bled complete.
