How to Visit Seville Day 2
In December 2021 / January 2022 we made a 10-day trip to Andalusia. Seville was our first stop. We spent 5 nights in this amazing city full of history as the city was Roman, Muslim, and Christian. We made an ultimate guide of Seville, but here we will talk in detail about the day-by-day itinerary.
This article is for the day 2 where we will visit the old city center and some of the main monuments (Cathedral, Palaces…). We tried to regroup the main attractions together. This guide is based not on what the way we did it but on how we would have like to do it. But as always, we didn’t plan in advance, and we had to adapt.
We will assume you stay in the same area (Triana) as us at (Misterhost Triana Patio de las Flores.) But you can easily adapt the starting point based on your accommodation.
If you need more detail about Seville, you can read our ultimate guide.

How to Visit Seville Day 2
Royal Alcázar of Seville
To start the day, let’s visit the The Alcázar of Seville, the Royal resistance of the kings of Spain and the oldest royal palace in Europe.
In order to visit it, we would recommend that you purchase the ticket “Combined Alcazar + Cuarto Real Alto” which will allow you to visit do the general visit as well as the limited visit to the royal apartment. Opt of the 10am entrance, this way you will be the first there.
If you want you can also get an audio guide when you buy your ticket, for that chose + audio guide ticket.
You can count a good 2-3h for this visit as you will be started with the Cuarto Real Alto, then the place and finish by the garden.
The visit starts with in inner yard. Don’t miss the upper floor by taking the stairs on the right side. Then you get inside the main palace. To enter, at the time we where there you had to way a bit in line. Then you will go through the palaces and end in the garden.
Pro Tips: if you are able to get an early ticket, opt for one in late afternoon, this way the monument will be less crowded. When we visited it at 15h it was super pack but when we left it at 17h it was empty.
Lunch at El Liberto
It will now be around 13h and time to eat, so your next stop will be at El Liberto a cool local restaurant with great tapas and with vegan option. There you can either taste the local tapas or the paella. They offer great choice for both.
If you want a better spot in the restaurant, be sure to make a reservation. We personally pop by and got a table.
Catedral de Sevilla
Next stop the day with the visit of the 3rd biggest religious landmark in the world. When you first enter the cathedral, you will have to use the ramp to get on top of the Giralda, the bell tower to get a 360° view of Seville.
From there, you will head back down and visit this amazing monument that holds the tomb of Chirstopher Colombus and a small museum.
You will end up in the inner court of the cathedral (that used to be the court of the Mosque). It is an amazing place with lots of orange trees.
Don’t forget to buy your ticket online before going there. In case you forget, you can always buy it from your phone once you are in front, that’s what we did, and it allowed us to avoid going all around the building to the ticketing office.
The total visit can take up to 1-2h.
Archivo de Indias
Next to the cathedral are the Archives of the Indies. Well, you cannot see trade there nor the real archive but it’s a nice place to visit for its history. Here, you will be staying around 15 to 30 min depending on the exhibition.
Unfortunately, the exhibitions are in Spanish but there are some pretty cool light shows and animations that doesn’t require to understand.
Santa Cruz
Finally, time to simply hang around the Santa Cruz district and all its little street. El Liberto is actually already in this district but there is much more to it. There you can find Orange Tree Sevilla store which specialize in everything made of oranges. Therre are lots of small streets to go around to so take your time. And then slowly head north where the bigger street are and a more modern part of the city.
Centro Cultural Flamenco "Casa de la Memoria"
And finally, time to experience one of the most unique attractions in Seville. A 1h Flamenco shows in Casa la Memoria. The earlier you come, the more you will have a seat in front. We came quite late and got a seat on the side, but it was quite alright as the dancer are anyway moving a lot and in all direction.
From there, you can either head back home or go and seat in a restaurant to finish this second day.
