Introduction: Jericoacoara travel guide
Until 1985, Jericoacoara was a simple fisherman village hidden within immense dunes in incessant movements, between ocean and lagoon. Since that date, tourism has developed.
The Washington Post listed Jericoacoara in 1994 as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world, making it one the most touristic place in Brazil for locals.
Luckily, during our visit in February the high season was past, and the place was absolutely amazing.

Where to stay
Let’s start with the accommodation as an important part of our stay there was to chill in our room, enjoying the hammock on the balcony while getting our eyes full of gorgeous landscapes.
The guesthouse we stayed in was called “Suíte com café, ótima localização” on Airbnb, it was a spacious room with private bathroom in a private guesthouse with 4 rooms.
The house was renovated recently, the kitchen was convenient to used, breakfast was included, and the host were really friendly. Though we wished we would speak more Portuguese to be allowed to discuss more with them. But we manage with some French as the neighbour speak some and Spanish.
The room was amazing, modern, and cosy with everything we would have need. A nice balcony with a private hammock. The rooftop of the house also had a small sitting area.
Things to do
On the above map, the line mark where we walked to. That is one of the best things to do. After chilling on the hammock, it is great to go for a walk, and those are easy trail, no hiking required. Just a pair of flipflop and a swimsuit.
The ocean was warm and shallow. The perfect combination to really enjoy it
Hiking to the lighthouse (15min) is also a great place to enjoy the end of the day with a panoramic view.
