Introduction: Singapore travel guide

Singapore is a small country of 725km² in southeast Asia which is approx. 7 times the size of Paris. It is home to 5.7 million people and is a melting pot of cultures and traditions. Singapore is one of the most developed and advanced country in the work, yet their rural planning is at a level rarely seen. There are not many places that integrated that many greeneries within such a city.

If you are on your way to Southeast Asia, make a stop in Singapore as it is a travel hub for this area of the world.

Mapping the day

Getting there

The easiest way is to fly to Changi Airport, the international airport of Singapore. From there you can either get on the MRT (Metro), Bus or Taxi to the city.

Moving Around

MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) or the metro of Singapore. With over 122 stations in operations and 8 lines it will get you wherever you want.

Where to Stay

Staying 3 to 4 night will give you more than enough time to visit Singapore. If you are a bit in a rush you could also make it shorter to 2 days.

Where to Eat

Maxwell food center

There are hundreds of original and amazing places to eat in Singapore but Maxwell food center is an authentic place where locals usually eat. The center offers lots of choice of local dishes and have over 13 stalls for you to choose from.

Some of the dishes to be tried are:

  • Hainanese chicken rice
  • Stingray
  • Bubble tea

Things to do

Muslim district

Stroll around the district and discover the beautiful Sultan Mosque of Singapore. Admire the street arts and eat some middle eastern food.

Marina Bay

Enjoy the view of Marina bay and chill by a huge lotus flower pound in the middle of the Singaporean skyscrapers.

Gardens by the Bay

Walk in one of the most famous parc in the work. Gardens by the bay has over 101 hectares of beautiful greeneries and is home to one of the most scenic sites in the work the Supertree grove. A must to visit during the day and later on at night for some light show.

Flower Dome

Located within the Gardens by the Bay, the flower dome is a gigantic conditioned greenhouse. Home to species from all over the world.  

Cloud Forest

Also located in the Gardens by the Bay, the cloud forest replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions between 1,000 metres and 3,000 metres altitude.

Merlion & Park

Walk across the bridge and stroll around the neighbourhood to discover the Merlion park and the famous statue, emblem of Singapore.

Sentosa Island

Explore the southern island of Singapore and discover the Tiger sky tower for panoramic view over Indonesia. Chill by the beach and discover one of Singapore most popular place with Madame Tussauds and Universal studio.

S.E.A. Aquarium

Learn about marine life at Sentosa’s aquarium. Home to over 100 000 underwear animals and approx. 1000 species.

Sands SkyPark Observation Deck

From Marina Bay, you can visit one of the biggest shopping center of Singapore and then take a elevator up to the Skypark on top of the famous boat building.

Universal Studios Singapore

And if you like adrenaline, pay a visit to the Universal theme park. Have fun on 28 rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones.
