Introduction: Cordoba Airport to Capilla del Monte

Today’s we flew with Flybondi from Puerto Iguaçu (IGR) to Cordoba (COR) airport. We landed as schedule at 5pm and by 5:15pm we got out packs and were in the airport terminal.

We went straight to the information center and asked. There we were told that we first need to get to the bus terminal in Cordoba from where we can catch another bus to Capilla del Monte.

Getting to the terminal

In order to get to the bus terminal that is in the city center of Cordoba, there are 2 options, taxi or city bus. So, let’s take the bus.

First, you cannot buy tickets on the bus, nor you can buy ticket in the terminal, you must have a local public transportation card. So, we went to the first floor of the airport terminal to the drugstore and buy a city bus card for 105 pesos. One card is enough for two more. Then we topped it up with 260 pesos as a single bus ticket cost 126 pesos.

From there, we headed back downstairs, and out of the airport to find the bus stop that is located on the right side. Then, it was easy, we just waited a bus to come as there was no schedule. By 5:40pm a bus arrived “Aerobus”. We hoped in, told the driver “omnibus terminal”, swipe the card twice and sat.

We made it to the bus terminal by 6:20pm. During the way, people asked to get out and the bus stopped but you can’t miss the terminal.

Buying a ticket to Capilla del monte

In the airport we were told that we would arrive in the gate 82 with the city bus and that we should go to the gates 50 to 60 to find the ticket office of:

  • Ersa
  • Sarmiento
  • Lumasa

We asked the 3 of them and the earliest departure was Ersa at 7pm. Got 2 tickets (400 pesos each) and waited.

Bus ride

The ride is supposed to take 3h. but our journey took 3h20min or so. But well, the time is not the worst, because this bus ride was quite bumpy, stopping every 5min to get people in and out. It felt like it took 10h to get there. Plus, there was no AC and it was hot on it.

Additionally, that was quite an old and dirty bus!

But well, we made it by 10:20pm and walked to our accommodation.
