Introduction: Quimper Travel Guide
Quimper is an ancient city and has a Breton Celtic heritage. Originally settle during the Roman empire (495 AD), it became the capital of the region.
The town has an authentic rustic atmosphere with footbridges spanning the rivers, old half-timbered houses, an old city center and a cathedral reaching 35.4m height.
It’s a great place to stop especially if you are on a road trip over Brittany. Anything between ½ to 1 day will be great.

Why pin one by one when you can get them all at once?
Getting there
To get to Quimper, you can come directly by train from Paris. There is a direct TGV (high-speed train) that runs every day and takes 3h37min.
Or you could ride a bus (Flixbus or similar) from Paris to Quimper. The direct bus takes 8h35 but only run in the weekend.
Yet, the most convenient would be to come by car and to enjoy more of Brittany that only Quimper.
Moving Around
Once you are in Quimper, you can simply walk your way around. The furthest would be between the Lanniron Castle and the city center and represent a 30min walk.
If you are by car, there are plenty of parking in the city.
And if you want to take the city bus, Quimper has its own city bus network.

Musée des Beaux-Arts
Walk around the art museum. Founded by a French engineer, it has over 3000 paintings and drawings and over 12 000 engravings.
