Introduction: Ravalet Castle
The Château des Ravalet, also known as the Château de Tourlaville, is a 16th century residence, remodeled in 18594 by the viscount of Tocqueville. Located in Tourlaville in the Manche department in the Normandy region.
The Castle, its old towner and the park are made of a cave, two arcades, two cast irons basins and a greenhouse.
It’s the perfect place to admire some local castle and chill by the park.

Getting there
The nearest city is Cherbourg, in order to get there the easiest way is to take a train from Paris. Once there renting a car would be the easiest option.
Renting a car in Paris would also be a great idea and would allow you to road trip around Normandy and stop at Ravalet Castle.
The last option would be to fly to Edeis Airport, located next to Cherbourg. And then rent a car from there.

The Park
The park is free and open all year around. From there you can get stunning views of the castle, walk around and discover the greenhouse or even play with your kid at the playground.

- February: 8:30am to 6pm
- Mars: 8:30am to 8:30pm
- April: 8am to 7pm
- Mai to August: 8am to 8pm
- September: 8am to 7pm
- October: 8am to 8:30pm
Stena Line Cherbourg
The Cherbourg harbor is made up of two Stala line. A Small one and a Big one. Together they represent the 2nd biggest in the World after the one In Qatar.
La Cité de la Mer
Visit the local history and science museum located in the former Transatlantic maritime terminal. Built 1928, the 240m long Art-Deco hall is full of amenities and a special section is devoted to the Titanic that called into Cherbourg 5 days before it sank.
You can also there, board the First French nuclear submarine, le Redoubtable, lunched in 1967 and for the kids, there is also a small aquarium.
Basilique Sainte-Trinité
Visit the local basilic. Constructed in the 15th century with a gothic style.
Batterie du Roule
Part of the Atlanctic Wall of the Nazi’s Germany, it consists of a series of bunkers and batteries. It can be visited with a guide
Liberation Museum
You can also learn about the liberation of Cherbourg and the D-Day by visiting the liberation museum. Located next to the Batterie du Roule.
