Italy is great for everybody and all type of traveler, all year round.

Italy is a country consisting of a peninsula delimited by the Alps and several islands surrounding it.
The country is 301 230km wide and has over 60 million inhabitants.
Italy is also home to another country, the Vatican which is a fully independent state.
But Italy is most known for the Ancient Rome, that used to be the biggest and lonsgest empire of Europe.

Green is hope, white denotes faith and red is the colour of charity. Inspired by the French flag, it’s often called Il Tricolore.

Rome is over 2,000 years old. It was founded in 753 BC and the Roman Empire was born in 27 BC.
The Empire ruled Europe and parts of North Africa right up until 395 AD. After the fall of the Empire, Italy divided into separate states until 1861.
Italy’s national day is called Festa della Repubblica and it’s celebrated each year on 2 June.

Vespa was first made by Piaggo. It is the first scooter to ever existed. It was to be used by men and women without getting their clothes dirty.

Vatican City in Rome is an independent state. It is the smallest country (and one of the richest) in the world and is led by the Pope himself.

What to expect?

Language: The official language is Italian. But it is easy to get around, lots of Italian speaks it. In the north, they also speak lots of French near the border.

Food: Italy is truly famous for its foods. There are lots of options ranging from Pizza (best one ever and vegan one as well) to steaks and seafood without forgetting the pastas!

Transportation: The best way to get to Italy is by plane. From there, trains are running everywhere and are the fastest and easiest way around. Most places accept credit card and many ATM can be found around.

Plugs: The plugs in Italy are type C (EU standard). The standard voltage is 220V with a frequency of 50hz.

Safety: Italy is a pretty safe country for all type of travellers. You may want to be careful about pickpocket in big cities and avoid getting out after dark, but that’s quite the same in most places.
