It is also a land where highly developed metropole is in perfect harmony with nature. We were amaze by how much greenery, nature, parks are integrated in the city.
Singapore is also a big financial hub for Asia and living in Singapore is a dream held by many people. Education healthcare, quality of life, safety and housing are all great in Singapore. But it’s also an expensive city.
About
Singapore is a sovereign island with 63 Satellite islands. The country is not big at all and could be compare to a big city in term of size (751 km²).
The country is home to 5.7 million people, of whom 61% are Singaporean citizens.
Singapore was first founded in 1819 by Sir Stamford Raffles as a trading post for the British empire. Many things happened to Singapore over the year, and in 1945, after WWII, Singapore gained self-governance
Singapore is now part of the Four Asian Tiger and one of the most developed country in the world.
Red symbolises “universal brotherhood and equality of man”
White, “pervading and everlasting purity and virtue”.
The waxing crescent moon “represents a young nation on the ascendant”.
The five stars stand for the nation’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality
The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore.
Despite being a mythical creature with a lion’s head and a fish’s body. It is a prominent symbolic to Singapore and Singaporeans. Widely used to represent both the city state and its people in sports teams, advertising, branding, tourism and as a national personification.
The Gardens by the Bay is a nature park within Singapore. With its 101 hectares being located in the Central Region, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir.
The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden.
Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort in front of the Marina Bay. Owned by the Las Vegas Sands corporation, it was open in 2010, and was billed as the world’s most expensive standalone casino property at $5.88 billion USD. The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000 m² convention-exhibition centre, a74,000 m² shopping mall, a museum, a theatre, restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world’s largest atrium casino.
What to expect?
Language: The official languages are English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil; with English being the lingua franca (common language).
Food: Singaporean cuisine can be divided into five types: meat, seafood, rice, noodles, and dessert/snacks. Singapore is renowned for its seafood. Chili crab and black pepper crab are two specialities  among with the sambal stingray.
Transportation: The 3 main modes of public transport in Singapore are the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) being a metro network, buses and taxis.
Money: The currency in Singapore is the Singapore Dollar. Rates changes, but at the time we were there 1€ was worth 1.57 dollars. Credit card are widely accepted, and ATM are everywhere.
Plugs: The plugs à Singapore are type IC. The standard voltage is 230V with a frequency of 50hz.
Safety: Singapore is one of the safest and cleanest country in the world.
