Introduction: Travel with Covid-19 Pandemic
This guide will be super general because the situation is really different and specific for every country. In 2020, we were stranded in my hometown in France. So, we will base this guide on traveling in France and Europe under Covid-19.
In France, we had a major quarantine from March 17 to May 11. At this time, of course travelling was not possible and even going out of your place wasn’t allow. We are now having a second wave of quarantine from October 30 to who knows.
This was for France, and other countries had different solutions. Europe was not really united as one to fight COVID-19.

How to travel with Covid19
Wait the right time
Travel with Covid-19 mean that you will have to wait that your country ends its quarantine to travel. In order not to miss it, follow-up the news to be always aware of what is going on.
Plan at the last minute
The situation can change really quick and one day you could be able to travel and the next day not anymore. So, if you plan your holiday weeks in advance, you may have to cancel them. For that, the best is to go in a last-minute travel. This way, you are sure you will be going.
Travel your country
Now, would be a great time to travel in your country. Most of us, travel abroad, but have you ever wondered how many wonders your own country has? If you look a bit, you will find amazing place to visit. Also, you may already know where to go and wanted to visit it since a while but were always going far.
That happened to us, we always wanted to visit Brittany, but never did. Well, this year we visited it!
Or Travel nearby
If you are lucky to live near a border, you should consider visiting countries that are near your place and easily reachable. Plus, if something happens, you can easily and rapidly go back home. We are living near the German’s border, so we went to Germany a couple of time and to Switzerland as well. Both are really closed from our place.
Road Trip
It would be best to avoid flying this year. Some of our friends wanted to go to Spain and they had their planned cancelled 3 times and never went in the end.
But going on a road trip is best and is the safest. You are free to go whenever you want; you will not be in touch with too many people in airports, planes, stations, trains, or buses…
Opted for nature
Avoid cities and opt for a place with nature. Hiking is 2020 was the best! Even the world known hikes were empty compared to what it should have been.
We personally hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc, visited Lake Lucerne (Switzerland) and hiked in the black forest. Compared to a regular year, those places were not crowded, and the nature was amazing.
Protect yourself
Also, if you travel with Covid-19 Pandemic, always bring with you a couple of facial masks and some hydro-alcoholic gel. This way, you will always be able to protect yourself whatever the situation.
