We have lots of good memory there. Drinking Rhum with fresh coconuts, chilling on the beach, the best sunset ever…
But also some epic one, such as getting ripped off in a Jeepnee, or ending up being sick in El Nido and almost dying.

The Philippines are an archipelagic country made of 7 641 islands.
Due to its location in the Pacific rim, Philippines is prone to earthquakes and typhoons but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world’s greatest biodiversity.
The Philippines are the world 13th most populated country with a population raising to 100 million.
The main religion is Christianity.
In the center of the triangle is a golden-yellow sun with eight primary rays, each representing a Philippine province. At each vertex of the triangle is a five-pointed, golden-yellow star, representing the country’s three main island groups. The white, blue red means liberty, equality, and fraternity.
A unique feature of this flag is its usage to indicate a state of war if it is displayed with the red side on top
Philippines produces and exports more coconuts than any other country in the world. Every year over 19.5 million tons of coconuts are shipped around the world.
Once on the island, the best mean of transportation from beach to beach is the sidecar (Motorized tricycles).
They can hop on in and off from place to place for a fair price.
A must to try if you are a beer lover is the red horse beer. Local one from the Philippines, this is a beer that is not only tasty but also super strong. It can be found everywhere for a super cheap price.
What to expect?
Language:Â The official language is Filipino but there are over 187 languages in the country. Almost all are Malayo-Polynesian and few Spanish influenced creoles. But rest assure, Filipinos speaks great English!
Food:Â Great and cheap seafood can be found, as well as barbecue or more international food. Though be careful to avoid eating too much uncooked food or ice. There is a risk of getting sick.
Transportation: Plane between the main island, from there local buses, boats and taxis.
Money: The currency in Philippines is the peso. Rates changes, but at the time we were there 1€ was worth 56.7 Pesos. There are ATMs in the big cities, but for smaller place cash will be better. ATM can be found but not with convenience.
Plugs: The plugs in The Philippines are type A, B, C. The standard voltage is 220V with a frequency of 60hz.
Safety: Philippines is not safest country. Try to avoid Manilla as much as possible. Also, always go out with group of people, during day or night.
