Lagoa da Conceição
This district of the island is most famous for its shops, restaurants, hostel and hotel. It is located in the center of the island and offer everything a traveller could need. It isn’t anything like a big city but is a lagoon and a small town. It is a good base to start exploring the island. As well, it offers supermarket and street market.
Mole beach
One of the 42 beaches of the island. Long of 960m, it is one of the most touristic beaches on the island. Its width goes from 10m to 120m depending on the ocean tide. It is an ideal place to chill but also to surf as big waves can be encounter there.
You can access the beach on foot from Lagoa da Conceiçãn by simply following the lagoon. At the end of it keep straight, pass the bar and turn left behind it to find a small shortcut to the beach.
On the way there you can make a stop at the sand dunes that are on the right side of the road. You either trek in them or just spend a bit of them within them
lagoinha do Leste
A beautiful secluded beach that is a must to see while in Florianopolis. See the complete article about it here.
Reaching the island
The bus station is directly located at the entrance of the city. You will need to take a bus (1h or so) or an Uber (30 min) to reach Lagoa da Conceição
The central market of the city is located 500m from the bus terminal. We couldn’t see it but we heard it is a great place to eat at.
There is also an airport called Hercílio Luz International Airport and is located 14km from downtown. It is located on the island itself, south of the downtown.
