An Amazing 2 weeks Morocco Itinerary

Morocco is a North African country bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. It is distinguished by its Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences.

For travelers, it is one of the most picturesque countries to visit. It is without a doubt one of the most photo-friendly countries. From the old cities, to the beautiful and colorful tiles, to the sand of the Sahara… Morocco has a lot to offer.

This itinerary is the road we followed in November 2022, when we made our 2 weeks Morocco Itinerary a reality.

We will start in the north in Fes, we will then go higher to the mountain to visit Chefchaouen, before heading down to the seaside to Essaouira while stopping at Rabat and Casablanca. We will then reach Marrakech before going back to the mountains. From there, we will head to the Sahara Desert for the most amazing road trip ever.

This itinerary will be best done as a road trip. Morocco has great public transportation between the main city but then to get all over, it isn’t that easy.

2 weeks Morocco Itinerary Overview

Our itinerary covers the main cities of Morocco, and it can be done in 14 to 17 days. It goes over 2500km of road trip. We did it from Fes to Fes, but you can easily adapted to any city you can arrive from. Casablanca to Casablanca, Rabat to Rabat, Marrakech to Marrakech. It is made as a loop, so no worries:

  • Day 1: Arrive in Fes
  • Day 2: Explore Fes
  • Day 3: Road trip to Meknes, Volubilis, Chefchaouen
  • Day 4: Explore Chefchaouen
  • Day 5: Road trip to Casablanca with a stop in Rabat
  • Day 6: Road trip to Essaouira + Explore Essaouira
  • Day 7: Chill in Essaouira (Bonus)
  • Day 8: Road trip to Marrakech
  • Day 9: Explore Marrakech
  • Day 10: Road trip to Imlil + Explore Imlil
  • Day 11: 1-day hike in Toubkal national park
  • Day 12: Road trip to Ait ben Haddou
  • Day 13: Explore Ouarzazate, road trip to Tinghir
  • Day 14: Road trip to Merzouga
  • Day 15: Enjoy the Sahara Desert
  • Day 16: Road trip to Ifrane
  • Day 17: Explore Ifrane and return.

If you don’t have enough day, you can easily skip Ifrane, and on the last day go straight from Merzouga to Fes Airport if you have a late flight.

You can also skip the chilling day in Essaouira or the 1-day hike in Toubkal national park. But we would still recommend visiting Imlil as it is not far from Marrakech.

Or even decide to skip Rabat and Casablanca and head straight to Essaouira.
