Morocco also has a variety of landscapes. From the desert, to the mountain, to the ocean, to the arid step, Morocco don’t fail to amaze.
Plus, it is quite affordable compared to other destinations.
About
Morocco, officially the Kingdom of Morocco is the westernmost country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and has land borders with Algeria to the east, and the disputed territory of Western Sahara to the south.
It spans an area of 446,300 km2 or 710,850 km2 with a population of roughly 37 million.
Its official and predominant religion is Islam. Moroccan identity and culture is a mix of Arab, Berber, and European cultures. Its capital is Rabat, while its largest city is Casablanca.

Argan oil comes from a tree native to Morocco. This popular and luxury oil found in cosmetics and hair care products, argan oil, is an export of Morocco. The oil comes from argan nuts, which grow in the arid climate of Morocco.
Mint tea is the national drink of Morocco. Wherever you go or stay, Mint Tea will be served. And for some it is an art form. Tea in Morocco is typically green tea prepared with fresh mint and sugar.
Cats are everywhere in Morocco. Even though there are not necessarily pets, the locals take care of them. The reason for that is that cat is consider a sacred animal as the prophet had one. Cats are also really clean animal and due to that are accepted compared to dog that are consider dirty. That’s why if a dog touch someone, they will have to clean again and change clothes.
What to expect?
Language:Â The two official languages are Standard Arabic and Standard Moroccan Berber. Apart from that French is widely spoken all around the country. Spanish in the north and English in the desert.
Food:Â The 2 most traditional dishes are Tajine and Couscous. They come in different variations. With vegetables or different type of meat. Another one is Harira, the local traditional soup
Transportation: There are many buses going all around the country. The main cities are connected by train line (even high speed). Planes is also a great way to move to the main cities. If you prefer a road trip, there are tons of road in Morocco and a few highways.
Money: The currency in Morocco is the Dirham. Rates changes, but at the time we were there 1€ was worth 10.6 Dirham. You can pay with card in supermarket, gas station or other main places. Otherwise, cash is preferred. ATM can be found everywhere. For us the ones from Attijariwafa were great as it didn’t have a fee.
Plugs: The plugs in Morocco are type C or E (Like Europe). The standard voltage is 220V with a frequency of 50hz.
Safety: Morocco is a really safe country. It has a really low crime rate but as always be careful with your belongings.
