A Simple and Easy guide to Mendoza city (3 days)

In this simple guide we will tell you what impressions we got from Mendoza while staying there 5 days and exploring it for a whole day.

Introduction

Mendoza is the capital city of the Mendoza province, famous for its wines and olive oils. The city was erected in 1561 and inhabits around 115 000 people. Like Buenos Aires the city has lots of trees in the streets making it fresher and nicer.

A whole day there going would be more than enough.

Getting around

Mendoza has a lots of city bus going around, in order to use them you will need a SUBE card (same card as Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina). Google map work more or less and can tell you the road to take by buses.

Grocery

A few supermarkets can be found in Mendoza, so finding grocery is quite easy. Like other cities in Argentina, you will need to get to the fruit veggies store for more choice, to the butcher for meat and so on.

In terms of dietetica, we went to a few of them but there weren’t really nice, and we couldn’t find nice cereal bars or snacks. Yet we found nice bread in one of them called Dietetica Camomila.

Accros the main information center, there is also a market.

Things to do in the city

In the city, there are a few things to do if you have a spare day. If you do not have, don’t worry you are not missing much.

  4. Peatonal Sarmiento
  5. Army of the Andes Monument
  6. Arístides Villanueva

Things to do around

Most of Mendoza highlight are out of the city, or so we believe:

  1. Wine tasting
  2. Aconcagua provincial park
  3. Cacheuta Spa
  4. Potrerillos
