3 Months budget backpacking
As we were sailing on a 3 months trip in south America, we were wondering if we would need a travel insurance or not. The day to leave arrived and we still did not make up our mind if we would take one or not.
We had checked a few of them, but in the end, if we were to pick one, we would go with “Travelnomads” as they seem to be the best for it and would also allow us to get an insurance after our trip started.
After a couple more week thinking, we decided not to take one. Was it the right call? Well, we had to stick to it now. During those 3 months, we had a few incidents and problems of course. But as we didn’t have any insurance, we used local and alternative medicine in order to avoid huge doctor cost.
We got genital organ infections, bumblebee bite, knee paints for weeks, cancelled plane and more. Well, if we had some insurance, we may have done things differently.
The point is that while travelling things will happen to you. That is a fact, you can’t explore the world have get no hard time. After it depends how you feel about it.
You can like us, just deal with it (eventually), or make yourself feel safer and get an insurance.
